- Intellectual property research is undertaken by researchers within the School of Law and CREATe (UK Copyright and Creative Economy Centre) which is a University research centre leading on major research projects, including those funded by UK Research Councils and Horizon Europe.

- Andreas Rahmatian is leading work on copyright and creative works, and in particular, copyright protection of music.
- CREATe has close interdisciplinary links with the Centre for Cultural Policy Research (CCPR) in the College of Arts & Humanities has produced a wide range of resources including the Copyright User Portal (www.copyrightuser.org) and the AHRC funded digital archive Primary Sources on Copyright (1450-1900) (www.copyrighthistory.org) and AHRC/PEC funded Copyright Evidence Portal (https://www.copyrightevidence.org/).
- CREATe is a UofG research beacon, and a core member of the creative economies and cultural transformations theme in the University’s new Advanced Research Centre (ARC).
