Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What courses will I study on the Diploma?

The Diploma is accredited and regulated by the Law Society of Scotland.  The Law Society has set a significant number of objectives that must be met by every person wishing to practise law in Scotland, which you can look at on the Law Society’s website.

In order to meet these objectives, our Diploma students study five core courses and choose three optional courses:

Core Courses: Civil Litigation, Commercial Awareness, Conveyancing, Criminal Litigation and Private Client

Optional Courses: Advanced Criminal Litigation, Commercial Contracts, Commercial Conveyancing, Commercial Litigation, Contemporary Scottish Public Law, Corporate, Family Law and Human Rights (note that these are subject to change and are confirmed during semester one each year).
