Roe Group Member: 2023 - Present
I completed my BSc (Hons) in Microbiology with a specialization in Bacteriology at the University of Glasgow, during which I first joined the Roe Lab by undertaking my undergraduate research project assessing the effects of the amino acid D-serine on the Escherichia coli genotoxin colibactin. Following that, I undertook an MSc in Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases and Antimicrobial Resistance at the University of Glasgow, where my research project, supervised by Dr. Katarina Oravcova, investigated biological fitness determinants of an emerging Streptococcus pyogenes genotype.
In my current role within the Roe Group, I support researchers by creating graphical content to effectively convey scientific concepts, both in formats suitable for scientific publications and in graphical abstracts designed for science communication and general audiences. Additionally, I assist with managing the group's website and aid in the design of scientific posters and presentations.
