Professor McInnes re-appointed Institute Director

We are delighted to report that Professor Iain McInnes CBE is to serve a further term as Director of the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation for a period of two years.
We are delighted to report that Professor Iain McInnes has been re-appointed Director of the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation for a period of two years.
A global leader in the field of arthritis research who was last year awarded a CBE for services to medicine, Prof McInnes was originally appointed to the post in 2010.
After a thorough consulation process involving all members of the Institute, Head of College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak announced that he would serve a further term.
Prof Dame Dominiczak said: "I am delighted to advise you that Professor Iain McInnes has been re-appointed as Director of the University of Glasgow’s Institute of Infection, Immunity & Inflammation for a period of two years to 31st July 2022.
"I carried out an extensive consultation with all members of the Institute of Infection, Immunity & Inflammation and there was overwhelming support for Iain to continue for a further term. University Court has now approved Iain’s re-appointment.
"We wish Iain warm congratulations and continued success."
Prof McInnes said: "I'm very grateful for the confidence shown in me by colleagues in the Institute and College and consider it a great privilege to continue to serve as Director of the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation.
