Congratulations to Juliette Desportes!
We are delighted to share the news that Glasgow’s Juliette Desportes has been awarded the Scottish History Society’s 2023 Rosebery Prize.
This prestigious prize is awarded annually for the best primary source edition (transcription with scholarly apparatus) by a postgraduate student or early career scholar. Juliette’s winning entry, in a year of fierce competition, was a transcription of a 'Petition and Complaint by Roderick MacKenzie' from 1756 (NRS, E746/113/3). Congratulations Juliette!
Juliette is the first Glasgow postgraduate to win the prize, Laura Doak and Nathan Gray having been highly commended in 2018 and 2008 respectively. Juliette is supervised by Dr Andrew Mackillop.
