Pauli Stincus
The site of Pauli Stincus in the Terralba district was intensively surveyed in 2004, using both intensive surface collections and geophysical prospection (magnetometer). It was interpreted as a rural settlement of Punic date occupied between the 4th and 2nd centuries BC.
It was subsequently selected for large-scale excavation and fieldwork took place between 22 June and 9 July 2010. A brief and preliminary impression of this fieldwork campaign is provided on these web pages.
Fieldwork in Sardinia is supported by the National Geographic Society's Committee for Research and Exploration, the British Academy (small grant) and the Instituto del Patrimonio Cultural de España of the Spanish Ministerio de Cultura.
