A one-day workshop on Thursday 1 May 2025
A one-day workshop co-organised by Dr. Daniel Calderbank, Professor Claudia Glatz, and Professor Jaafar Jotheri at the University of Glasgow on 1 May 2025.
The main objectives of the workshop are knowledge exchange and network-building in order to strengthen existing collaborations and develop new joint Iraqi-UK projects going forward. The workshop will consist of presentations by Iraqi delegates followed by round-table discussions on key emergent issues related to the practice of archaeology in Iraq and its intersection with cultural heritage concerns, including Climate Change and Archaeology/Heritage, Cultural Heritage Law and Policy, and Inclusivity and Gender Parity in Iraqi Archaeology and Heritage.
We invite participation from Iraqi, UK and international archaeologists and heritage practitioners.
Participation is free, but please register your participation by sending an email to Daniel.Calderbank@glasgow.ac.uk or Claudia.Glatz@glasgow.ac.uk by 16 April 2025.
