Jashasvi JingarWe are delighted to welcome Jashasvi into Archaeology, who started with us on the 1 September 2024. She tells us a bit about her background and areas of expertise:

I have a master's degree in Cultural Heritage from the University of Aberdeen and a Master of Letters from the University of Glasgow. My academic and professional background spans archaeology and technical analysis of art, with experience working as a field archaeologist as well as a technical analysis work placement student at National Museums Scotland. I have also volunteered at Aberdeen Art Gallery.

My research interests lie at the intersection of history and material analysis. For my dissertation, I conducted a technical examination of a 1965 African painting from the Argyll Collection by using advanced imaging and analytical techniques including X-ray and infrared imaging, cross-section analysis, along with XRF and SEM-EDX analysis to examine the materials and techniques used in the painting.
