The Bright Edge Deep project has received a lot of interest and engagement over the last few weeks. An article on the exhibition authored by Nicki Whitehouse, Clare Willsdon, Gareth Beale and colleagues was published in November/December’s issue of British Archaeology, as part of a special issue focused on Climate Change. Members of the team were also involved in a further article in the same issue around the role of peatlands in climate change.
The project, film and reel materials were presented as part of a COP26 event at Glasgow Cathedral on the evening of Monday 8 November 2021 on the cultural and historical value of peatlands organised by Historic Environment Scotland. Gareth Beale presented the project and work to an international audience of heritage professionals, together with a reel of the material shown during the networking after the talks.
The exhibition is also featured as one of the items within the Virtual Peatlands Pavilions at COP26, organised by the Global Peatlands Initiative. Visit here to see more: https://storage.net-fs.com/hosting/6147066/7/
Some of our the materials are also being featured as part of a peatlands exhibition at the Crichton Centre in Galloway, via a reel of materials prepared by Gareth Beale. The material will be shown there for about 6 months.
