Biography
Anne has background in nursing primarily in Children and Families work. She worked for 42 years in the NHS in Midwifery, Health Visiting and Public Health. She previously had a lead role for Maternal and Child Health Improvement in Renfrewshire with a portfolio that included Gender-based violence, Maternal and Infant Nutrition, Maternal and Infant Mental Health for example. The last 10 years, however, was spent in Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) as a Supervisor and then Lead Nurse/Service Manager based in Glasgow City HSCP covering NHSGGC. Anne has always been interested in maternal and child health, and this was the focus of her Masters research at the University of Glasgow. Furthermore her passion for social justice and social inequalities has been at the heart of her roles.
She graduated from University of the West of Scotland (UWS) with a BSc in Health Studies and went on to gain a Masters in Primary Care in 2010. Anne was nominated by NHSGGC for the Queen’s Nurse title and was nominated by the QNIS in 2017. Anne has also undertaken a post-graduate diploma in Child Protection.
