Biography

I am an Executive Officer and Portfolio Manager at the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit (SPHSU), working across Prof. Petra Meier’s portfolio of research. This includes:

  • The Systems Science in Health research group within the SPHSU.
  • The £10.3 million NERC-funded GALLANT(Glasgow as a Living Lab Accelerating Novel Transformation 2022-2027), which aims to deliver a Climate Resilient City through City-University Partnership.
  • The £7.5 million UKRI Population Health Improvement investment Policy Modelling for Health (2024-2028), a multi-institution consortium to develop public health computational modelling that provides timely and effective support to real-life policy processes.

I graduated with BSc(Hons) in Neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh and then completed a PhD in the School of Psychology at Cardiff University in 2012. Before joining the SPHSU, I worked in Medical Communications developing publications  for pharmaceutical industry clients in the area of inflammatory diseases. I joined the SPHSU in 2018 as a project manager and since then I have worked across a number of different research projects focussed on addressing health inequalities including, the Trial for Healthy Initiatives in the Very Early years (THRIVE), the UKRI-funded Transdisciplinary Research for the Improvement of Youth Mental Public Health (TRIUMPH) network and the UKPRP-funded Population Health Agent-based Simulation nEtwork (PHASE).
