IHW staff and students are looking forward to participating in the World Congress of Psychiatric Genetics, which will be held at the SECC Glasgow between 11 and 15 October 2018.
This is the world’s largest international conference for psychiatric genetics and will feature a wide range of leading speakers and symposia.
The conference comes at an exciting time for discovery science in psychiatry and will showcase several important recent discoveries on the genetics of mental illness. We are delighted to have had eight posters accepted for this meeting, including by Amy Ferguson (PhD Student), Keira Johnson (PhD Student), Joey Ward (Research Associate), Rona Strawbridge (Research Fellow), Laura Lyall (Research Associate) and Nick Graham (Clinical Research Fellow). These posters cover a wide range of genetic epidemiology work, from circadian rhythms to chronic pain, depression, bipolar disorder, suicidality, and the overlap between mental illness and cardiovascular disease.
