Carers Week 2021 – Make Caring Visible and Valued

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

Wellbeing of older workers

date Monday 21 June 2021
time 2.00 to 3.00pm
aimed at line managers, older workers, those interested in workplace wellbeing and inclusiveness
details WOW – Wellbeing of Older Workers was established in 2018 by Institute of Health and Wellbeing's Nicola McMeekin and Janet Bouttell. WOW is an Athena Swan group which aims to support and raise awareness of older (50+) workers and inter-generational wellbeing. If we are lucky, we will experience the joys, as well as the challenges, of growing older. Join us at this webinar about the wellbeing of older workers in the workplace and discover more about the ageing workforce, the phenomenon of retirement and the establishment of a menopause policy at UofG. Learn about the formation of WOW and the forthcoming WOW toolkit which comprises information and signposting to IHW/University of Glasgow policies and other information on support for older workers. With speakers including Dr Sheena Blair (former Occupational Therapy Programme Director at Glasgow Caledonian University) and Professor Ewan MacDonald this hour long webinar will be of interest to all – staff, line managers, and both older and younger workers.
