In the interests of good work-life balance and to encourage a positive and enabling environment for all, no IHW staff member or student is expected to access or respond to emails outside of their usual working hours, unless it suits them to do so.

To support this important aspect of the IHW workplace culture, we would ask that everyone considers adding either of the following statements (slightly amended, if necessary, to suit your particular circumstances) to their email signature:

"You are not expected to reply to this email outside of your normal working hours or if you are on leave"

"I sometimes send emails outside of my normal office hours for my convenience but do not expect you to respond outside of your usual working hours"
