Taking positive action on work-related stress
Published: 1 May 2018
New Athena SWAN champion Cindy Gray reflects on reported stress levels among IHW staff, and how we hope to address this in the coming months
In the recent University of Glasgow staff survey, 40% of IHW staff reported experiencing unduly stressed by their work.
This disturbing finding has led our Athena Swan team to launch an in-depth exploration of the causes and potential solutions to workplace stress. Over the next few months, the AS Staff Consultation Group will be interviewing staff from different job families across IHW to try to understand experiences of work-place stress.
We would like to recruit as widely as possible and would value your views and experiences if you would consider sharing them. Recruitment emails will be going out shortly, so please do respond if you feel you are able to contribute to this consultation.
Please also remember, if at any time you want to have a confidential discussion with someone who is not immediately connected with your work about any work-related issues, please contact either Cindy Gray (our new Athena Swan champion, cindy.gray@glasgow.ac.uk) or Kate O’Donnell (our new Deputy Director, Kate.O'Donnell@glasgow.ac.uk).
