IHW's Athena SWAN champion Cindy Gray and IHW Admin have reviewed and updated our email etiquette, and we ask all staff to familiarise themselves with the new advice.

Among other things, we have combined into a single document our existing email etiquette and our guidelines for contacting staff while on leave.

Further changes include:

  • Guidance about what to put in our email signatures (including letting colleagues know that if we choose to send emails outside of typical working hours for our own convenience, there is no expectation that they respond in their own time)
  • A section about emails and sustainability
