IHW's Professor Mia Crampin has been awarded £246k by the Wellcome Trust for a 5-year public engagement programme associated with "Healthy Lives Malawi: Intergenerational Cohort of Chronic Conditions"
IHW's Professor Mia Crampin has been awarded £246k by the Wellcome Trust for a 5-year public engagement programme associated with "Healthy Lives Malawi: Intergenerational Cohort of Chronic Conditions".
Funded by the Research Enrichment for Public Engagement scheme, Professor Crampin and a team of researchers at MEIRU (Malawi Epidemiology and Intervention Research Unit) will engage with rural and urban communities in Malawi about long-term conditions including mental health.
Areas of focus will include:
- Primary school engagement on early origins of long-term conditions
- Sharing the voices of families affected by maternal mental health conditions
- Documenting family journeys and infant development in birth cohort families
