Public Health in Glasgow Trail
Saturday 15th September Walks starting at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm
Public Health at the University of Glasgow turns 100! You’re invited to join us in exploring the importance of Glasgow’s Western Infirmary site, past and present. Taken at a slow pace, this trail allows you to absorb the sights and sounds of the area. The walk will explore the developing Western Campus and provide you with an insight into the relationship between one of Scotland’s oldest universities and the Western Infirmary, focusing on how both work together to improve the health of Glaswegians.
The trail also marks the official opening of the Clarice Pears Building and Byres Community Hub, the School of Health and Wellbeing’s new home at the University. The building will be our first and final stop on the trail, allowing you the opportunity to learn about what the building can offer local residents, explore the exciting exhibits on display and add your own memories of public health in Glasgow.
This trail will be led by Walk Leaders trained through Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland’s Walking for Health project and Paths for All. Visit www.chss.org.uk to find out more information about the Maryhill Hub, offering a range of activities with their friendly, trained team.
