Exhibition launch - Monday 9th December, 1-2pm in Byres Hub

Using the theme In/Visible as a springboard, Common Wheel's art project, Carnival Club, worked across nine weekly sessions to create individiual model boxes.

Each participant created their own little world within a box in response to the theme, embodying thier own interpretation.

The theatrical model box is traditionally used to design theatre and film sets. The format allows the creation of self-designed worlds where all does not have to be logical, or as things are supposed to appear or expected to be.

The group were presented with an empty box and a range of materials to explore their ideas, and as each week progressed, the miniature worlds took shape.
