Rona Strawbridge and Linsey Ip tell us about their group's plans to mark National Mentors Days by running a drop-in peer support event for colleagues who volunteer their time to mentor others.

The SHW Athena SWAN mentorship scheme aims to improve career development for staff and PhD students within the School.

Whilst we aim to build upon the progress already achieved with regards to gender equality, we recognise this is not the only potential source of inequality, therefore we consider all forms of bias within the mentoring scheme.

To celebrate National Mentors Day we will be running a drop-in session for SHW mentors. This informal session will offer an opportunity to discuss experiences and challenges of mentoring, and provide peer support. We encourage as many SHW mentors (and potential mentors) as possible to attend from all job families.

Date Thursday 27 October 2022
Time 11.30am to 12.30pm
Venue Lecture Room 3, Public Health, 1 Lilybank Gardens (on the corner of Great George Street)

If you are one of our mentors, or if you are interested in becoming a mentor, do join us if you can!
