Glasgow Engineering Futures Fellowships

As a Glasgow Engineering Futures Fellow you are expected to:

Research  

  • Lead and deliver an independent research programme in an area of strategic priority to the School    
  • Develop and submit proposals to secure external research funding, including external fellowship proposals such as Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowship, UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship, EPSRC New PI Award or equivalent  
  • Disseminate and communicate research findings through a range of outputs including publications and conference presentations  
  • Supervise doctoral research as a primary supervisor or secondary supervisor   

Teaching and Supervision

  • Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Teaching load will reflect your status as a Fellow and will gradually increase over the duration of the fellowship (i.e. Years 1 and 2 no more than 10 ECTS, Year 3 to 5 increasing to no more than 20 ECTS)
  • Complete the University of Glasgow Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice
  • Supervise undergraduate and masters research projects, in line with the reduced teaching load of the Fellowship 

Leadership  

  • Lead and coordinate a research project, team and activities.   
  • Act as an ambassador for Glasgow Engineering Futures Fellows.
