Describe your role in the University?
I provide various technical services to multiple research groups across the school of Engineering. Just a few examples include injection moulding, anaerobic culture testing and set up and delivery of undergraduate laboratories. I also ensure the labs are well stocked, running smoothly and equipment is maintained to the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
What is the best bit about your role?
The best part about my job for me is that every day is different and there are always opportunities to try something different and develop my skills.
What projects are you currently working on?
I am currently working with Nikolaj Gadegaard to create injection moulded chips from 3D printed masters. I am soon being trained to print more complex parts such as well plates and needles.
What is your academic/Job history?
I studied Pharmacology at University and after graduating I did some travelling around New Zealand and Australia. I then worked in a veterinary practice for a while before starting my job here.
What are your future plans? Education, Job related, Travel?
This summer I am going to Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona. I booked it pre-pandemic so it's been a long time coming.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to cook, read and go to gigs.
