Dr Swayamdipta Bhaduri

  • Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering (Singapore: Engineering)

Biography

Swayamdipta went to college in India and graduated from the National Institute of Technology at Durgapur with a baccalaureate degree in mechanical engineering. He went to graduate school in Canada and received his doctoral degree from the National Institute for Nanotechnology at the University of Alberta. His PhD advisor was Professor Carlo Montemagno, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of bionanotechnology. Before joining the University of Glasgow, he held the prestigious Provost's Early Career Fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin. Swayamdipta is always interested in exploring interdisciplinary collaborations in soft matter, biological microfluidics, biophotonics, and the chemical physics of living systems. When not teaching or researching, he is likely birdwatching, listening to classical music, reading on the history of science, or misadventuring in molecular gastronomy.
