Research interests

I am a structural geologist and my research involves the interpretation of 2D, 3D and well data along with physical analogue modeling and field studies to understand rifting how normal faults grow through time. I also look at how different geological factors, such as tectonic setting, lithology, fault maturity, and reactivation affect fault growth and the geometries of faults (fault displacement, length, height, and width of fault damage zone).  I am currently researching the integrity and potential reactivation of salt-propagated faults surrounding potential North Sea carbon storage sites. I am currently conducting research with my UofG colleagues on the tectonic evolution of Scotland, specifically the activation and reactivation of the Great Glen Fault. I also have a hobby interest in urban geology and the building stones of UK cities.

I am enthusiastically open to collaborations in academia and industry in CCS and offshore nuclear waste storage.

I am on a short-term contract, so I cannot take on post-graduate students at this time.
