Renewable energy system design and applications
Wenjuan Song, Mohammad Yazdani-Asrami
We investigate various wind-powered and solar-powered systems with a focus on aerodynamics, structural design and renewable power generation. Major research topics include:
-
Development of superconducting transformers for offshore wind energy systems with smaller size and lightweight, increased efficiency and much lower losses during normal operation
-
Development of superconducting Fuses for Renewable Energy Systems such as wind turbines and solar panels to provide faster and more reliable protection against vercurrent faults compared to conventional fuses.
