Technical Services Structure
Our Technical Services team provides essential support to the James Watt School of Engineering. Every day, our technicians and operational staff ‘make it happen’, contributing to very engaging teaching sessions and exciting research projects. We design, develop, produce, build, and deliver technical solutions to academic problems.
Our Services:
- Design, build and commissioning of electronics, mechanical and civil engineering solutions
- Mechanical and electronics workshops
- Technical plant operation as well as decommissioning of plant and apparatus
- Material testing
- Lab management services as well as technical support for teaching labs
- Graphic design and printing services
- CAD services and 3D printing
- Health and Safety advice and management of biological, chemicals and waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)
- Stores management
- Logistic services including transport of personnel, materials and equipment
- Repair, replacement, removal, transport and storage or plant, apparatus and furniture
- Design development and delivery of technical space
