Biography
Clare has been teaching at the School of Education since 2007.
Currently her roles include.
Co-ordinating the Theology / Philosophy / CTF strand on the MEDUC programme
Course leader and lecturer on Theology and Religious Education courses on UG and PGDE.

Course Leader and Tutor on CREDL ( Certificate in Religious Education by Distance Learning.
Course Leader and Lecturer on the ATQRE (Additional Teaching Qualification for Religious Education)
Outwith teaching Clare is involved in a variety of student support roles.

- Advisor of studies for a year group
- University Widening Participation - Clare represents the School of Education and is Course Leader for the Education course on the WP Summer School.
Clare has also been the UG Admissions Officer for the past 5 years and demits office in August.
Clare is an alumi of the University of Glasgow, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Divinity (Hons) and later with a PGDE(Primary) in 2001. She also has a Masters in Catholic Pastoral and Education Studies from the Maryvale Institute in Birmingham.(2015). Clare is also undertaking a PhD around the area of Music in the Liturgy and children with communication needs.
From 2001 until sept 2018 Clare also taught part time for Glasgow City Council in the Primary school sector. In the last few years in particular her teaching focus was on music and religious education.
Prior to all of the above Clare qualified as an RGN (registered general nurse) and later as an RM (Registered midwide) and worked in a variety of hospitals, hospice and community settings in Glasgow, Stirling, Uist, Liverpool. She also worked for several years as a co-ordinator of a new Primary Health Care programme in the NE of Sierra Leone.

Research interests
Looking at music in the Catholic Liturgy and young children with communiaction needs.
Using signs and symbols - music and religious education. Children's Sacramental Education. Music in the primary school.

Engaged in Development Education in schools and parishes with SCIAF and Caring Church Team.
1987 - 1990 St. Joseph's Hospice Liverpool & District Nursing in Perthshire.
1985 - 1987 Co-ordinator of Primary Health care. (Sierra Leone, West Africa)
Working with the Paramount Chief, local Health Workers and the Catholic Mission to establish a Primary Health Care servive for a rural Chiefdom in NE Sierra Leone for the Kuranko and Fulani peoples. Volunteer with the Volunteer Missionary Movement.
