Dr Hazel Crichton has been nominated in the UofG ‘People Make Research’ project, led by colleges in Research Services which asked Postgraduate Researchers and Research Staff across the university to name the people who make a positive difference to them. She is one of the 133 staff members across the university recognised by this.

There are three categories: Collaboration,  Creativity and Careers, which can be found here: All the nominations – mapped to the three themes in our Research Strategy: Collaboration, Creativity and Careers – can be viewed via this announcement. Dr Hazel Crichton has been nominated in the Collaboration category. The nominator stated:

I am blessed to have Hazel as my Supervisor. As a long-distance part-time international EdD student, Hazel is always very encouraging and very supportive. She never pushed me in a negative manner and even when I slacked off she just gave me a nudge in the right direction. I am someone who appreciates thorough feedback and she gives me that and supports my understanding. Her feedback is always constructive and she always shows she actually pays attention to the whole dissertation. I will always be grateful for her effort and support. A doctoral student-supervisor is a delicate relationship, one that can be based on power and authority, or one that can be based on mentorship. I was lucky to have the latter.
