Centre for Computing Science Education member Peter Donaldson’s work on capturing and characterising important conceptual models (Notional Machines) in CS as part of an international working group has now been published by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
‘Notional Machines in Computing Education: The Education of Attention’ is a key reference for future researchers in this area, providing: a systematic review of prior research; further development and refinement of the notional machine concept; and a range of example models used by Computer Science educators.
