Dr Sarah Anderson presented a roundtable discussion, inviting participants into conversation about a common understanding of effective teaching and assessment in initial teacher education (ITE) school-based experiences. The discussion aimed to explore the nature of shared judgement, consensus, and dissensus of observed teaching effectiveness across a range of views and experience.

Dr Angela Jaap presented two papers: Supporting primary teachers in classroom music through Lesson Study (with Lio Moscardini) and Pre-service teachers and conceptions of intelligence (with Lorna Hamilton).

Professor Stephen McKinney and Dr Jennifer Farrar presented The Impact of Armed Conflict on Children as one of the papers in the Poverty and Education Network Symposium on 24 November 2023. The Impact of Armed Conflict on Children discussed the impact of war on children and their school education in the conflicts in the Middle East, Ukraine and some of the forgotten wars. This expanded the previously published work of Professor McKinney and Dr Farrar:
