Using research to promote inclusion and equity in education
By Professor Mel Ainscow
Professor Mel Ainscow’s research has had a significant impact on the global efforts of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote inclusion and equity in education. In particular, it has led to the development and use of an analytical framework that is the basis of a guide being used to review and develop policy and practices in many parts of the world. These developments relate to United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4, which calls for inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all by 2030.
