Conference Support

Members of School of Education staff wishing to apply for conference support should follow the procedures detailed below. Staff may only submit one conference support application per financial year. The maximum funding available for presenting a paper or being a member of an Executive or Organising Committee is £2000. Funding for participant attendance only is not normally available except under exceptional circumstances. Funding will not be available to any staff member whose T4 individual profile is not up to date and funding will not be provided to any staff member who is a PI who has not produced and updated the profile of their project(s).

PhD students in the School of Education may apply for School conference support funding for presenting a paper, of which you are the author or co-author. The current maximum award is £800 per application, which can be split between two conferences in a single year, and you can make applications from your second year onward, for up to two years during your study. Please refer to the guidance notes for further details, and before making any application, discuss this possibility with your supervisors.

Applications should be made on the PhD Conference Support Application Form, available below.

Retrospective applications cannot be considered. Please note that funding is not guaranteed and is only available when funds permit.

Staff Conference Support

The application should be sent in the first instance to your Research and Teaching Group Leader for review and authorisation.  Once your application has been approved, please submit to the RTG Academic Support Office (education-rtg-office@glasgow.ac.uk) at least three weeks in advance of the Conference and not after the event. Retrospective applications are unlikely to be funded. Where a late submission is unavoidable a covering letter providing an explanation must be attached to the application.
