Biography

Amy Wilcockson joined the University of Glasgow in 2023 as Research Assistant on the Leverhulme Trust-funded project 'The Collected Works of Robert Fergusson: Reconstructing Textual and Cultural Legacies'. Amy is working alongside PI, Professor Rhona Brown, as the project seeks to produce a new textual edition of the works of Robert Fergusson (1750-1774), forthcoming from Edinburgh University Press in 2026. She is also assisting with a range of collaborations and events throughout 2024 to mark the 250th anniversary of Fergusson's death.

In August 2023, Amy completed her PhD at the University of Nottingham. Her doctoral thesis, entitled ‘A Scholarly Edition of the Selected Letters of the Scottish Romantic Poet, Thomas Campbell (1777-1844)’, is the first scholarly edition of the neglected Scottish poet and public figure’s letters, and the first edition of any of his writings since 1907.

Amy is also the current Communications Officer for the British Association for Romantic Studies.
