Scottish Literature postgraduate research seminar
The Scottish Literature postgraduate research seminar series is organised by the postgraduate students, who decide on themes, topics and speakers. This term the focus on literary adaptation and dialogues between art forms prompts consideration of the relationship between literature and film, science, ecology and painting, with seminars led by the novelist Bernard MacLaverty and New Zealand poet and artist Gregory O'Brien. After the seminars by these writers, the series resolves with postgraduate students Calum Rodger and Richard McCaffery picking up the questions arising and discussing aspects of their PhD reearch on, respectively, Ian Hamilton Finlay and Scottish poets of World War Two.
