Finnegans Wake Reading Group
Discover some of the mysteries and humour of one of the Twentieth Century’s most complex and challenging novels in the company of an informal group of students, academics and curious fellow travellers.
The Wednesday morning meeting to look at a page or two of James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake has been convening weekly in the English Literature department of Glasgow University since 2007 to read the text aloud and try to unravel its narrative, allusions, and historical context over an hour or more of open discussion.
We have also organized a number of Joyce-related events, including a series of musical Bloomsday Celebrations, a day workshop in 2008, and a public reading at the Transmission Gallery in 2012.
