Robert Burns in the Retail Economy

This study takes the form of an assessment impact of Robert Burns in the Retail sector. The investigation shows that many producers, wholesalers, Small and Medium Enterprises use Burns or Burns Heritage to promote their Brands. This is especially the case of local producers and suppliers from the Ayrshires, though it is also true elsewhere in Scotland :

Mossgiel Farm Organic Milk;

Robert Burns Brown Ale from Bellhaven Brewery;

Man O’Word from Annandale Distillery;

The Robert Burns Single Malt from Arran Distillery;

The Lassies Toast gin from Dunnet Bay Distillers;

The Robert Burns Night Wee box

 

Burns operates particularly well within the Food and Drink industries. Most of all, the Poet and his works are strongly linked to both Whisky and Haggis; especially during the Burns Season and the wide number of Burns Suppers celebrated all over the world.

There is a significant opportunity to integrate Robert Burns in the development of a National Food Tourism plan or of a Ayrshires Supply chain scheme.
