GU Literature Society: David Sweeney, Monday, 8th October, 7:30pm The Dram!, Woodlands Road
This Monday, 8th October at the Literature Society we have a talk from David Sweeney, tutor at Glasgow University.
The talk is entitled 'A Thick Skein: Writers, Readers, Publishers, Fans and the Uses of Fictional Worlds', where David discusses various uses of fictional worlds, drawing on Deleuze and Guattari's concepts of territorialisation and rhizomatics which he relates to wider cultural notions of authorship, ownership, intellectual property and fair use. After the talk there will be questions and answers, and of course drinks and discussion on every topic imaginable.
Whether you're in the mood for some intellectual stimulation or just a drink in the warm and some friendly company, you should come and join us at 7.30pm in The Dram!, Woodlands Road.
More information can be found on Facebook on the event page and to be updated with all our comings and goings you can like us: Literature Society
