Cognitive Toponymy was a Royal Society of Edinburgh sponsored project that used place-names to investigate how people conceptualise place in Western Europe. The project was a collaboration between the Universities of Glasgow, Copenhagen and St. Andrews, and involved participants from a range of academic disciplines. The project ran for two and a half years (January 2014 to June 2016) and held three one-day symposia as well as a range of Knowledge Exchange events in different parts of Scotland and Denmark. Symposia papers, blog posts and Knowledge Exchange outputs are available on the project website.
