Jean-Baptiste Masclef (4th Year)

Jean-Baptiste joined the university of glasgow in 2020 after finishing his MSc at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier. His project focuses on developing novel bio-mimicking polymers for the synthesis of biodegradable and biocompatible amphiphilic block copolymers. Those copolymers will allow the preparation of stimuli-responsive nanocarriers, which will improve the solubility of anticancer drugs and reduce the toxicity of chemotherapy.

In collaboration with the Schmidt group at Glasgow.

Hollie Miller (1st Year)

After completing an Honours degree in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Glasgow, Hollie went on to complete her M(Res) degree working with Dr David France at the University on the development and synthesis of PROTACs to target the mutant p53 protein. Hollie is now working towards her PhD in the Prunet group on the development of novel cationic polymers for the use in DNA transfection.

Bilal Sadiq (MSc by Research)

After completing MSc Chemistry from Mirpur university of science and technology (MUST), he moved to COMSATS University Islamabad and completed his MS Chemistry in Organic Chemistry. He worked in and organic chemistry research group and his Master thesis is entitled "Designs, Synthesis and Molecular Docking of biological active Benzimidazole Derivatives". He joined the Prunet group in October 2022. His research topic is the total synthesis of hexacyclinic acid. Other then Chemistry he loves to explore new places, music, cooking and playing cricket.

Maria Prieto Rojo

María joined the University of Glasgow in 2019 to undertake an integrated MSci in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry, which involved a 12-month work placement at Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Oxford. During her placement, María worked within the Formulation Development team, gaining insight into the process of drug discovery and development. She joined the Prunet group in 2023 to work on her final year project, focused on the synthesis and post-polymerisation functionalisation of polyethers.
