Chemistry student life
The University of Glasgow is a very social university, and students are strongly encouraged to join clubs across the University and take advantage of the state-of-the-art fitness facilities on campus. Most chemistry students also join the Alchemists Club, established in 1918.

University of Glasgow Alchemists club
All members of the School are eligible to join the University of Glasgow Alchemists club. The club organises regular social events including:
- Pub quizzes
- 'Hallowine'
- Christmas jumper parties
- An annual WESTChem ball
- A Burns supper

Sport at the University of Glasgow
Students and staff of the School are eligible to join the University's sports facilities at a discounted rate. These are located within the newly-refurbished Stevenson building.
UofG Sport membership includes:

- PowerPlay strength suite
- 25m swimming pool
- Sauna & steam room
- Drop-in sport sessions
- Squash courts & sports halls
