Professor Schlesinger commented: ‘It’s fantastic to reach a Chinese readership and to benefit from translation of my work, which I’ve always valued enormously. Given the book’s focus on the mediation of collective identities and political violence as well as on the relations between cultural politics and the nation, I’m really intrigued to know how it will be received in today’s China. It’s been published by an influential house and I’m joining some great names on their roster. So how could I not be delighted?’.
