Raymond Boyle spoke during the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow at the conference on “Sport as Persuasion and Power in the Modern World.” He discussed the role of the media in promoting cities and also the growing impact of social media on this process. The conference was held at Scotland House on July 25 and organised by the University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Cultural Relations, along with the Scottish Government, the Royal Commonwealth Society, and the City of Glasgow.
