History of Art celebrates world-leading research achievement
We are delighted that History of Art, together with contributions from Information Studies and Education, has performed exceptionally well in the REF2021 research assessment. 92% of the Unit’s research has been recognised as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’, whilst our underpinning research environment, that benefits from our state-of-the-art collection and conservation resources at Kelvin Hall, and our partnerships with The Hunterian, Smithsonian, and Glasgow Life, was assessed as 100% ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’. Our three Impact Case Studies, involving close collaboration with galleries, museums and the heritage sector, were similarly judged 100% ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’. Further information is available at https://results2021.ref.ac.uk/profiles/units-of-assessment/32 and press interpretation at https://www.timeshighereducation.com/news/ref-2021-art-and-design-history-practice-and-theory . We look forward greatly to building on our achievements in the months and years ahead.
