Biography

Bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Federal University of Mato Grosso, Brazil (2009). Master's Degree in Sciences from the FCFRP-USP Pharmaceutical Sciences program at the University of São Paulo-USP, Ribeirao Preto, Brazil (2012). Doctorate Degree in Sciences in the same University program. During PhD, I developed one-year training at the British Heart Foundation (BHF) at the University of Glasgow in Prof. Rhian Touyz`s lab and I am currently a Research Associate at the Institute of Cardiovascular and Medical Sciences - University of Glasgow.

Research interests

Currently working on the vascular and molecular mechanisms by which VEGF inhibitors cause cardiovascular toxicities, focusing mainly on the role of microparticles, NAD(P)H oxidases and the antioxidant system. We are also interested in elucidating how a Notch3 mutation in CADASIL affects peripheral small vessels causing vascular dysfunction.
