School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health

Kilmarnock Engineering and Science Society run a programme of public lectures for all those interested up and coming research. Many of the attendees are retirees who have worked in academia, medicine and the industrial sectors – so a wide range of backgrounds. In November Dr Laura Dowsett delivered her lecture ‘Conversations between your blood vessels and your fat’, while this April Dr Josie Fullerton will make a return visit to the society to speak on ‘Under pressure – extracellular vesicles in hypertension’. As the audience are from such a wide variety of sectors they tend to ask many interesting but often unexpected questions!
