On Thursday, 14th November, we welcomed a group of British Heart Foundation (BHF) donors—both corporate and personal—to tour the BHF GCRC labs. This event showcased the close partnership between our school and the British Heart Foundation in striving to improve the lives of those affected by heart disease.

The tour offered a wonderful opportunity for our students and staff to show the donors what they had been researching while demonstrating to BHF donors how their generous contributions directly fund vital research. The students shared insights into their current research projects and answer and questions the donors may have.

Our guests also had the chance to observe cells under the microscope, see how some of equpment works, and gain a deeper understanding of the impactful work happening at our school. Professor Christian Delles gave a talk on the critical importance of cardiovascular research, particularly in the West of Scotland.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the students who participated—Sasha Forbes, Rebecca Gilchrist, Nicola Gilroy, and Eline Huethorst

—for their excellent presentations and enthusiasm. Special thanks also go to Professor Christian Delles for his contributions.

Finally, we are deeply grateful to the British Heart Foundation and its supporters for their ongoing dedication to our shared mission. Your visit and support to cardiovascular research make a significant difference in advancing treatments and improving lives.
