Celebration of Ageing held at Clarice Pears Building

Celebrating the retirement of Professor Peter Langhorne and Professor David J Stott & Terry Quinn now becoming the Professor in Cardiovascular Ageing (Cargill Chair).

On Tuesday 29th of August, there was a Celebration of Ageing Research in Glasgow Looking Back and Looking Forward at the Clarice Pears Building. The event was celebrating the retirement of Professor Peter Langhorne and Professor David J Stott as well as Terry Quinn now becoming the Professor in Cardiovascular Ageing (Cargill Chair).

The event included a welcome via video form Vice Principal and Head of College Professor Iain McInnes. 

Celebration of Ageing cake cutting

Session one was about Celebrating the Chairs and ECRS of Geriatric Medicine with talks from Professor David J Stott, Professor Peter Langhorne, Dr Jenni Burton and ECR quick fire presentations. Session two was on Celebrating Geriatric Medicine in Glasgow, UK and beyond. This session included talks from Professor Terry Quinn, Professor Anton Muscatelli, Professor Miles Witham and Professor Simon Mooijaart. The final session was on Celebrating Collaboration with talks from Professor Jesse Dawson, Dr Lorraine Work and Professor Muhammed Imran. 

The event was well attended with around 100 people attending, with interesting talks and a very well ran event.
