Malek joins us working with Dr Pierpaolo Pellicori and Professor Paul Welsh
We would like to welcome Al Malek Hussien bin Ahmad to SCMH.
My name is Dr Al Malek Hussien bin Ahmad, and I am from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I am a d medical doctor with nearly a decade of experience in the dynamic fields of emergency medicine and general practice. My journey in the realm of healthcare began with a profound desire to make a meaningful impact on people's lives during their most critical moments. Throughout my career, I have been privileged to serve in the fast-paced environment of emergency medicine, where every second counts and quick decision-making can be a matter of life or death. My role as an emergency doctor has exposed me to a myriad of medical scenarios, from trauma cases to acute medical conditions. These experiences have honed my clinical skills and instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility and compassion for patients and their families during times of crisis. In parallel, I have also spent considerable time as a general practitioner. This aspect of my practice has allowed me to form long-term relationships with patients, focusing on preventive care, health maintenance, and chronic disease management. It has been gratifying to witness the positive impact of ongoing patient care and to be a trusted healthcare partner for individuals and families within the community.
As my career progressed, I became increasingly drawn to cardiovascular and metabolic health complexities. I recognized that these areas held significant potential for improving long-term well-being and preventing chronic diseases, among the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Therefore, I decided to pursue my study in an integrated Ph.D. programme in cardiovascular and metabolic health to delve deeper into the research, develop innovative solutions, and contribute to advancing medical knowledge in these critical fields. Dr Pierpaolo Pellicori and Prof. Paul Welsh will supervise me. I aim to bridge the gap between clinical practice and cutting-edge research, ultimately striving to enhance patient outcomes and quality of life. I am thrilled to expand my networking and broaden my horizons!"
We wish you all the best with you studies.
