Artificial intelligence can be used to interpret hand-held ultrasound images similarly to the gold-standard of diagnosis in the NHS.  A breakthrough new study suggests that artificial intelligence could significantly reduce the time it takes to diagnose heart failure.

This was presented the the Europena Society of Cardiology (ESC) Conference in Amsterdam, where the findings come from the Groundbreaking OPERA study, which was a collaboration between the University of Glasgow, AstraZeneca, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and NHS Golden Jubilee to assess the effectiveness of AI technology in patients with Heart Failure.
