Professor Sandosh Padmanabhan has been appointed by ministers to serve as a Commissioner of the Commission on Human Medicines (CHM) for four years.

Professor Sandosh Padmanabhan has been appointed by ministers to serve as a Commissioner of the Commission on Human Medicines (CHM) for four years. The CHM is a statutory committee established to advise UK Health Ministers and its executive arm, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) on the quality, safety and efficacy of medicines. Commissioners play a critical role in this process both at a national level and at a European Level in serving as experts on Scientific Advisory Groups to the European Committee on Medicinal Products for Human Use.

Prof Sandosh Padmanabhan said: “I am delighted to be appointed as a Commissioner of the CHM. I look forward to working with the Commission on its independent and scientific assessments related to licensing new medicines and monitoring their safety. I hope to contribute to the broad remit of the CHM, along with my expertise in precision medicine, pharmacogenomics and cardiovascular medicine.”
